NOVYI YARYCHIV TERRITORIAL COMMUNITY
Population:
The Novyi Yarychiv Territorial Community is situated in the territory of the Lviv District in the Lviv Region.
The total surface area of the Community amounts to 220 square kilometres.

Children: 3,534 residents
Pensioners: 3,780 residents
Internally displaced persons: 250 people
The Community consists of eighteen localities: two settlements and sixteen villages, with its administrative centre being located in the urban-type settlement of Novy Yarychiv.
History
The localities of the Novyi Yarychiv Community have a long history; most of them were founded in the 12th – 15th centuries. The administrative centre of the Community is one of the most ancient settlements of the Prykarpattia region and is included in the list of historical localities of Ukraine. Novyi Yarychiv was also granted the Magdeburg Rights. The buildings of manorial estates dating back to the 19th century have been preserved there along with the gardens around them, which have the status of landmark parks of horticultural art of local importance.

The Church of the Cathedral of the Holy Virgin in the village of Pykulovychi built in 1792, an architectural landmark of national importance, and the Church of the Cathedral of the Holy Virgin in the village of Sokoliv built in 1677, an architectural landmark of local importance, are also impressive examples of the preservation of historical memory.

Economy and Welfare
There are more than fifty industrial enterprises and twenty agricultural businesses operating in the territory of the Community. The essential operations can be observed in the food industry, where YARYCH, a well-known confectionery factory, is the leader.

In the agro-industrial sector, Central Plains Group Ukraine, a company which specializes in potato cultivation and production of potato products and is a partner of one of the largest buyers of potatoes in Eastern Europe, holds an important leading position.

Special attention is paid to the improvement of socially important facilities, which are quite numerous in the Novyi Yarychiv Community, as well as landscaping.
The medical sector includes a polyclinic and a district hospital, which is being renovated to increase the number of beds, four outpatient clinics and nine paramedics and midwives centres.

The Community runs ten schools and five kindergartens. One of the great achievements was the construction of a sports hall at a school, which the children had lacked for more than thirty years. Now it is the centre of sports life of the entire Community.

The Community also runs fourteen culture centres, fifteen libraries, two local history museums and an art school. Various groups for creative development of children work at the local culture centres and organize activities such as dancing, drama, vocals, children’s orchestra and other musical instruments, drawing.

The Community also has a local fire brigade, police officers and a particularly important institution – a home for the elderly and the disabled, which houses twenty-five people needing specialized care.

Community and War
When the war broke out, the leadership and residents of the Community have joined their efforts to help those who lost their homes, suffered from the enemy aggression, and the local residents defending Ukraine.
Since 24 February 2022, the Community has received more than 2,500 people seeking refuge. At first, they were accommodated at schools, and later the Community opened social homes, which currently houses seventy internally displaced persons.
The most priority area is assistance to servicemen from the Community. Military clothing, shoes, ammunition, and vehicles are purchased by the joint efforts of both children and adults.

People of the Community
Petro Sokolovskyi is the head of the Novyi Yarychiv Community. He has initiated the ideas and driven all changes for the positive development of the Community. Over the three years of existence of the Community, many projects have been successfully implemented under his leadership, in particular, the state of roads, communal facilities, and landscaping has been improved.

But humanity always remains the most important value, helping those who need it most, as well as the happiness of children. Even in difficult wartime, they have realized the wonderful idea of the “Social Bus” running between all the localities of the Community and transporting people at no charge. This service is available only in one Community of the Lviv Region!
Also, the Head of the Community has initiated a good tradition: on the St. Nicholas Day, giving away sweets to all the children of the Community without exception, as well as food packages to the lonely elderly.

Development Strategy
In November 2023, the Settlement Council approved the Development Strategy of the Novyi Yarychiv Territorial Community until 2027, which defined the main strategic goals for the further development of the Community, namely:
– Competitive economy – improving the quality of life and economic well-being of the population through the effective use of the existing potential and competitive advantages of the Community by way of stimulating the growth of innovative economy, ecologically oriented agriculture, increasing entrepreneurial activity.
– Development of human capital by investing in specific processes and improving the quality and availability of the services provided.
– Sustainable development of the territory – improving the comfortable and safe life of the population through sustainable development of the territory.
One of the priority strategic areas is the development of physical culture and sports, popularization of a healthy lifestyle. As part of this goal, the implementation of projects for the construction of multi-functional sports grounds, stadiums and pitches with artificial surfaces has already begun.

Another large-scale and important project, which is already at the stage of implementation, is the completion of a temporary shelter in the basement and additional educational premises at the school.
